About Me My name is Shannon McDonald and I am a senior Music Education with a Choral Emphasis at the University of South Carolina. I am currently pursuing Graduation with Leadership Distinction in the Professional and Civic Engagement Pathway. After graduation, I hope to become an Elementary music educator so that I may share my passion for music with others, and guide them to find their passions as well. Over the past semester, I have participated in student teaching internships at Rosewood Elementary School and Gilbert High School to help guide me towards that goal.
Throughout my time at USC I have served the Carolina community in a variety of ways including through my roles as an Orientation Leader, Capstone Scholar, and Fellow, and as a member of the executive board of my fraternity. Each of these opportunities helped me to learn and grow and shaped me into the leader I am today. In this ePortfolio, you will learn about me, my story, the people that have shaped my story and why I do what I do. You will learn about the importance of self-expression, the benefits of engaging in music-making, and the value of making deeper connections and learning from others. Each of these insights has shaped my college experience and will continue to guide me as I look towards my future as a music educator. |
